Our journey began in 1979 when the founder, Abdel Fattah Ibrahim Al-Hout, launched his first successful paint venture in the Gulf region, in Saudi Arabia. From there, one success story followed another.

In 1991, the decision was made to expand into Lebanon, marking a stronger, more stable growth, with a sharper focus on our goals. By 1994, we achieved our first major objective: entering Africa through Egypt. Exports to Egypt expanded, and the product range diversified, leading to the establishment of our first factory in Shubra El-Kheima, Cairo, in 1997.

This factory was a pivotal milestone in our history. The high quality of our products and the continuous demand in both local and African markets prompted us to upgrade and modernize our factories in 2005, adding significant expansions to production lines to meet market needs and growing demand. Egypt became the main hub for our expansion and investment in African markets.

Believing that any successful business must be integrated, we launched new initiatives to establish supporting factories for paints, starting with a tin packaging factory, followed by a plastic packaging factory, to streamline manufacturing and achieve self-sufficiency.

Despite political and social challenges, our faith in Egypt and its people drove us to invest in the Egyptian market—a decision that proved successful. This journey of success led to laying the foundation in 2012 for one of the largest decorative paint factories in Egypt, which officially opened in 2016. This factory became a landmark by employing the latest and most advanced manufacturing technologies, not only in Egypt but also in the Middle East and Africa.

Today, GLC is one of the largest paint manufacturers in Egypt and Africa, producing over 50 million liters annually of high-quality paints, offering comprehensive solutions for all market sectors. The company exports to 12 countries and employs 1,500 highly skilled professionals in their respective fields.
